Theres no reason for that ripple to be there on the front bumper Rachel, personally ide be asking for that to be done again as well if i was you for the money you paid!

Does look very nice with the kit on though! :)

Well thats what i said but they were unwilling to re do either bumpers, only offered to redo the wing mirrors and rear numberplate panel (which they damaged aswel in the process!! But blamed the paint peeling off.... Even tho it was vgc befor hand!) its a real shame as the body panels are brilliant! Unfortunatly there was nothing more i could do as the boyfriend handed over the agreed amount when he collected it for me *note to self....never send the bf on my behalf again*

Looking good Rachel but I wouldn't accept that bumper whether you've paid up or not. I don't think that's to a suitable standard. Look at your rights under trading standards and I'm sure you'll find something there. If you get no joy then make sure you blacklist them on every forum you belong to. That's what I did with the idiots that did my first respray. They probably don't realise how many car people you know and you can certainly make sure no one else you know goes there!

It's horrible when this happens. The guy may be trying it on because you're female. The bodyshop did that with me even though my friend who owns a garage was with me and told them that I know they were bullshitting.

If all else fails, threaten them with Watchdog.

We've just given up tbh, they messed us around so much it's almost more hassle than its worth...saying it was ready then as we were about to leave saying it wasnt and to get it the next day...then the next day the same thing, even when we dropped it off for the other bits to be redone we had to wait even longer than quoted! and it's a member on this forum who wrapped it for me which makes it even worse!

The thing is I don't want to start posting about who it is and start anymore trouble, they said the problem with the rear bumper (done in strips with a few gaps) was that it was rubbed down when we gave it to him (only picked it up the day before I dropped it off so had no time to prep) so he said that was why the vinyl wouldn't stick properly, hence done in strips. The front bumper was in better condition than my original bumper (think it was siannys old one) but said due to the condition of the bumper the vinyl stuck to itself in places instead of the bumper hence the ripple....???? Obviously I could name and shame to help get what I want but don't really want to go down that route :s

If he didn't think it was prepared properly then why didn't he tell you that before starting? I'd expect someone experienced to know that.

Aside from the obvious bits you ve pointed out Rachael, it does look good :)

Regarding the bad bits they are unwilling to re do, then remind them that you do have statutory rights and a right to make a full and formal complaint, regardless of whether you have already paid for the job. Ask them how long they guarantee their work in general for (I.E 6 months, a year etc for paint or mechanical work) and point out that this job was unsatisfactory from day dot. It does seem a bit strange though that if they are willing to do the "awkward" bits like the mirrors, why would they shy away from doing the bumpers again?
Yes, it may take more material for the bumpers, but surely they must be easier to wrap than a tiny fiddly wing mirror.therefore more time consuming and on an hourly rate, more expensive ;)
You ve paid your money to have a job done, and have it done properly. It hasnt been done properly, so therefore it is not fit for purpose, simple as that.

You say someone on here did it for you, is it them that is refusing to re do the job or their boss?
I personally would name and shame them, but thats just me, cos Im old and ugly enough to not give a monkeys if I put a nose out of joint...after all, they ve put yours out and taken your hard earned cash and seemingly dont give a s**t, so why should you? Why should you feel like you would be upsetting someone ?? They ve upset you by basically ripping you off.

Tell me who it is, I ll have a pop at em for you if you like...... I dont care :) Ive been ripped off in the past by numerous companies that think they can ride rough shod over you.
I had some repairs done by a local reputable company a year or so ago on my old Cmax. 99% of it was absolutely fine, but after a week of getting it back I noticed that some of the paintwork was "smeared" under the laquer so I took it back. They tried to fob me off saying that I had signed the paperwork to say I was happy and wouldnt re do it......half an hour later they were calling me back to get it redone. Why? Cos I had called my insurance company and told them that if it wasnt corrected I would name and shame them and the company they had contracted to do the work ;)

Dont take it mate... cowboy traders need stomping out!!! :) :) :)

Oh, and if the person who did this is reading this (they probably will if they are a regular member) if you re the one who is refusing to rectify this job, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Am in full agreement with this quote, it should be redone and IMHO they should be named and shamed if they refuse to do it.
Am no longer a Sol owner   but it's looking good Rachel... :D

I sell vinyl wrap to specialist companies in the South West and have seen their work. If the panels aren't in a condition in which the vinyl needs to be perfect, then they should either prep it or refuse to do the work until prepped properly. Cowboy job if you ask me. I'd be fuming
