Please feel free to place any ideas you have, things you want to see, things that dont work in this thread. Remember - the more we can get here the better your officially Honda recognised owners club will become :)

This sounds like a great idea, I've always said this but the garage section we had a couple years back briefly was great, specially for modders, you can see what other people have, what they are running and ask them about it. Some sort of events planning tool? Rather than everyone posting endless copy and pastes jamming up a thread with 6 pages of yes I'll be coming\no I'll be washing the cat. Maybe a monthly\or by-monthly news letter with updates most visited posts etc, just to jog peoples memory to logon and return rather than register and never come back. I like many others are happy to contribute with time or finances to a certain degree, crumbs if you need a server I might be able to grab one or even develope the forum somewhat from home into something new, but I've felt this year its kinda gone back to the old days where nothing right much happens.

The numbers of Sols are dwindling, if the forum doesn't keep its members and remind people to logon evey once in a while and give them something when they get here it will just go by the by

I just get the feeling people register, they find what they need and never come back, some probably don't even post.
Did you know DSUK are on:

just the comment i was looking for ;)

few others to wet your taste buds!

should the site be free or should we keep it subscription based?
minimum post count instead of fees to post for sale threads?
more/less traders?
homepage keep or scrap?
are people more or less likely to donate yearly for the server fund rather than it being subscription based?

i do also plan to 'upgrade' the swear filters although no-one will know what they are, and there will be ALL sorts :D

Ive only been round for a couple of years, but would like to think ive contributed enough to have my ten pennies worth...

I think the site works very well in my opinion, would just be nice to bring it up to date a little bit. The home screen works, but maybe time to be changed (sorry remedi)!!!. Maybe frequent members could submit there best pictures of there own car and someway the car on the homepage change every visit?

As i said, i think the forums work well in there format, just a colour, font change to spruce things up abit?

For what you get for been a paid member is well worth the money, so having to pay for certain feutures is more then fair.

Apart from that, alls tickadee boo! :D

Maybe a post or member rating system, by your name when you post. points for those with helpfull posts those who go to events and meets ect this would allow people to see who contribute to the club, and those with knowledge. This might encourage people to respond to posts a bit more.

Also a way of recruiting new members would be a good idea, most people only stumble on to these sorts of forums, or are recomended. There's a few sols parked round my area but I never get the chance to speak to them. Maybe get a dsuk sticker under there wiper or somthing.

When I first joined this site the main reason I stuck around was because everyone was so nice and welcoming to me and continued to be like that. I had a lot of interaction from the Mods and regulars that made me feel at home. Newbie’s on this site need a bit more attention and made to feel like part of the family like I and others have been.

Another thing as well that made me stick around was some of the Del sol members would always come and talk to me when I used to go to the Bluewater meets plus the rolling road day everyone was chatty to me. You need to start getting people to meets and spread the word, talk to the owners and make friends. Interaction is key.

I also stuck around because I wanted to bed one of the members  but that can’t be for everyone hahaha :P

Or get some half naked girls at the shows spread over the cars lol

Here's a few ideas:

Members garage - so needed! I have to trawl through loads of old posts to get inspiration from other members cars. This could be coupled with a rating's/voting system, and a section for comments too.

Newbies section: I know there's the introduce yourself section, but that's not enough. Needs to be some good links in there as to where to find the basic info, good FAQ's section, buyers guides, model guide, Honda contact info, trouble shooters etc...

Marketing! Getting involved with other friendly sites for a bit of cross-traffic and chat between members, getting it known this site is out there. Also, needs to be more merchandise available for sure, with a dedicated ordering and buying section.

Not enough is made of becoming a member on this site - it currently feels a lot like a "by the way" and there's no clear set out process as to how to sign up - this needs to be clearer from the front page of the site, spelling the benefits out right away and how to go about getting involved!

A chat room. This would so help with getting a sense of community going, and should be made open to all, members or not - word of mouth works wonders. The little message thing at the bottom of the home page really doesn't go far enough

Having regular dedicated meets. Esp promoted in the Newbies section.

Sol of the month! I have no idea (ahem) if this is done elsewhere (cough), but it's a good idea - and on the back of Glover's idea, how about this be flagged up as front page car, revolving month on month - this might take time for admin I guess, but at least gives a bit of variety...

Get some affliation with Yank sites? TeamSol etc... It currently feels a bit "them and us" at the mo, and would be good to get some ideas and input from them on the other side of the pond.

A better way of putting pics up! I know this puts strains on servers I guess, but photobucket is doing me head in with it's cutting off photos to one side...

Anyways, I gotta scoot for now, but that's a few thoughts - hope it helps :)

(and I'd be happy to help as a moderator etc if I can - let me know!)
