Front brakes all fitted up and bled.
MTEC grooved Prelude 282 discs (redrilled to 4x100). 282 Prelude Calipers. HEL braided brake lines.
(Brand new OEM pads- still undecided on which front pad to run. These are just on for moving her onto the trailer for now)
System filled and bled with ATE Super Blue brake fluid.

Finally some updates!
Had a fair few bits to finish up in order to get the car shifted to another garage as my folks sold their house.
Got the wheels back from powder coating and tyres fitted. Bolted them on the car, dropped it to the floor and the car wouldn't roll. Jacked the rear up to check the handbrake was working properly, which it was. Jacked the front up and found that I couldn't get the wheels to turn, checked it was definitely out of gear, which it was. Thinking I might be having an issue with the gearbox I decided to removed the driveshafts to at least get the car rolled onto the trailer, took the front wheels off and the brake discs turn freely
Turns out when i tightened the wheel the brake disc was being tightened against the caliper carrier  I read of people having to take 1-2mm off the caliper carriers of Prelude 282s to fit the thicker MG 4x100 discs so I bought the Prelude 282 discs and had them redrilled hoping to avoid this problem. So for now some M12 washers behind the brake disc was enough to get it rolling.

So this was the Del Sols first outing outside the garage in 2 1/2 years. And as you can see shes screaming out for some coilovers, fronts not to bad but the rear looks higher than stock  I thought I could get away with EG 35mm springs and shocks but I guess since there is no weight to the rear end of this thing I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get some coilovers, unless anyone can recommend a set of springs, will need to be at least 60mm by the looks of it.

I'm hoping to find a decent condition set of front wings in blue soon to replace the sticker bombing I attempted to cover up some serious rust, was a quick fix about a year ago but I think sticker bombing has been done to death now.

The car is now hidden away for a summer siesta, I'd love to finish it this year but theres just no room in the garage its currently in. My folks move into their new place in November so looking to put the finishing touches on her and have her ready for some track days next summer 8)

Still left to do if any ones wandering:

Fit oil catch can
Fit window washer bottle
Modify caliper carriers
Sand powdercoat from the back of the alloys (face that meets the brake disc)
Buy and fit coilovers
Have geometry set up
Have downpipe fabricated and Spoon N1 fitted
Buy Hondata S300 and have it mapped :D

Time for an update.

Hondata s300 purchased
Image

Had my DC2 96 Spec wheels powdercoated
Image

Wrapped them in AD08s
Image

Decided to replace the eBay 'turbo kit' i had put on it, probably would have done the job fine but I wanted some better quality items
Turbonetics T3
Image

Blox Cast Manifold, Tial Wastegate, Turbonetics T3, catch can etc. all fitted up
Image

I'm not keen on the red catch can hoses, some black hose is on its way 8)

Painted the intercooler BLACK!
Image
Image

Theres some stuff i've bought and am yet to take photos of.
BC BR Series Coilovers (springs powder coated to match wheels)
4 x 114.3 MB6 Hub conversion with 262 rear brakes
Racetech gauges to replace the cheap eBay gauges
Kode suede steering wheel
TRS 2'' Harnesses in blue

Rolled the car out the garage the other day to fit the coilovers, hub conversion and wheels......got one corner done then the heavens opened
Image
Image

Also changed the bonnet and boot pins for more pedestrian friendly flush locks

I'm stuck offshore again for the next 3 weeks but shes only needs oil, coolant and fuel and shes ready to fire up :D :D :D
Will finish fitting the new hubs, 262s and wheels also
Exciting times, should finally be finished before this summer

Really not sure who i'll get to tune this yet.
Just got rid of the Subaru and bought a CRV to run around in, looking to buy a trailer for the CRX so I guess I could travel anywhere to have it mapped. Any suggestions? Bearing in mind i'm all the way up in Aberdeen.
Heard mixed reviews about Henry Roy down beside Glasgow, he's probably the closest person that i'd consider getting to map it

Quick update

Plugged in my ECU and loaded on a basemap
Stuck in some oil, coolant and fuel.
The battery was dead so I stuck on some jump leads and connected them to the battery from my CRV.
Turned on the ignition, lights on the dash and heard the fuel pump priming, checked the fuel pressure gauge and its reading just under 40psi
Pulled the spark plugs and disconnected the injectors. Plan was to crank the engine over a few times to get oil circulating and build some oil pressure

As soon as i turn the key theres a single click from the starter and the car loses all electrical power (lights on the dash go off and ECU disconnects from the laptop)
Its more of an electrical click from the starter, not it rotating
I pulled the starter and powered it straight from the battery and it moves forward and spins as it should

I thought maybe the dead battery was causing the problem so I removed it and connected the jump leads from the CRV battery straight to the Del Sols terminal clamps. Still the same problem

I'm fairly sure I must have a short somewhere but haven't had time to investigate it properly. I did connect my multimeter in series and measure the current draw with the car off but it was 0.01A so I don't think i have a current draw problem.

Heres a quick video of whats going on (sorry about the poor iphone quality)

If anyones had similar issues or has any suggestions as to what to check next let me know, next chance i get to have a play around with it will be thursday night

Had very similar on a mate's Grande Punto recently and it was a degraded earth strap, confirmed by simply by-passing it with a jump lead from the neg side on the starter to a good earth point. I'd start there - there may be enough connection to get the solenoid to click, just not enough amperage throughput for the starter to turn it over.

Good thread to read :D

Was told to check the main relay, pulled it from the car and ran through the electrical checks in the Del Sol manual, seems to check out fine.

I've just made 2 new earth cables at work today, gearbox to chassis and cam cover to chassis.

Giving the battery a good slow charge tonight.

Thursday night i'll give all the ground connections a good clean and try again.......fingers crossed
