Okay so if I'm perfectly honest I forgot all about this 'Project' thread I started
Anyway that just means that I have a whole lot of updating to do!
Firstly I finished up stripping out all the sound deadening and painted the interior.
Purchased and installed an NRG harness bar and Cobra bucket seats.
Bought and fitted a boost gauge, oil pressure gauge, oil temp gauge and water temp gauge.
Hooked up a couple of buttons for the rear fog light and horn.
Re installed the dash
After re-installing the dash I tested the gauges and found that the oil temp gauge doesn't light up and the oil pressure and water temperature don't read at all. Serves me right for buying cheap gauges. These will be replaced with a decent set of gauges
Removed the B16 for rebuilding
I decided against running the steering rack with fluid and looped lines so this was stripped, seals removed and is now being run just greased.
With everything removed from the chassis I set about the long job of cleaning and painting.
Painted up the fuel tank and installed a Walbro 255 fuel pump.
Cleaned up the engine bay, tucked the wires down the wings, re-installed the subframe, steering rack, fuel lines, installed a 1'' brake master cylinder and brake lines.
So I disassembled the B16 and started replacing seals etc. meanwhile i was looking for a S9b gearbox with LSD and came across a complete B18c4 and S9b box with 90k miles for £250 up in the highlands, it was a fair bit of travelling to collect it but should be worth it in the end.
So plans changed and the engine was rebuilt as follows:
B18c4 bottom end
B16 head
New stem seals
Dual Valve Springs (Intake and Exhaust)
B18c4 cams
Adjustable Cam Gears
PCV and crank breather box removed, crank case plugged with freeze plug
ARP headstuds
New OEM headgasket
All rubber seals replaced with new OEM
New water pump and timing belt
Oil sandwich plate
Thermal intake and throttle gasket
B16a2 throttle (minus fast idle thermo valve)
NGK BKR7E spark plugs
560cc evo5 injectors with resister box
Avid racing 62A engine mounts
S9b box with LSD
6 puck Yonaka clutch
ITR flywheel
My rocker cover and sump are still away having baffles and AN10 fittings for breathers and drains.
Started fitting the turbo kit I've pieced together:
I picked up the manifold and turbo for cheap, I'm not expecting them to last forever but they will work as a start to get it mapped and on the road.
XS power Manifold
XS power T3/T04E 57 trim turbo
Tial 38mm wastegate with 14PSI spring
Oil feed line with 0.065'' restrictor
Racetech 3bar Map Sensor
Toyosports Intercooler
Forge Dumpvalve

Energy Suspension bushes for the front suspension
