Finally finished spraying my last wheel. Ive also added the green bolts, really sets them off now. I would have fitted the new Honda CR-V centerwheel caps but they are slightly too big :/ i tried hammering the clips in a bit on one of them, it worked but thwy wouldnt stay on so i might have to resort to refurbishing the caps that came with the wheel and get some Honda stickers put on :(.

These are the Honda CR-V center caps i had that are about 5mm too big :/ didnt cost the earth so not worried there.
Image

Sanded and etch primed the center caps. They must have been electro chome plated from factory because as i rubbed them down i found a thin copper film wrapped around the plastic.
Image

Received the 2" Honda gel coated stickers the other day.
Image

Bought a can of Tetroseal silver chrome. I wasnt expecting much at first after the 1st coat but once it came out the can quite thick and fast there was no turning back. Looks amazing, sprays completely different to normal colours. You cant help trying to do a slight dusting coat because this stuff just wont let you.

Center caps on, wheels finished.

Um next job is securing the rear bumper. Rear arches need welding and need a plate in the boot where one of the bolt holes for the bumper have rusted through.
Image

Also going to start making the boot water tight as i keep getting condensation on boot lid and a puddle of water in the spare wheel well and surface rust all around the boot :(.

Has anyone layered their boot lid with some sort of material to stop condensation occuring?

Thanks Gaz good idea, should be better than a old sock full of rice lol. Just the one you think would be enough? How often would they need to be changed?

Haven't got a clue, but I guess it depends on how much condensation you're getting - and why you're getting it. They have refills for sale too, so I guess it's a case of suck it and see, no pun intended

Cheers rodney, yes i found the how to the other day about silicon around the white sail locator plugs and the other clips. Also the how to clean the drainge pipes is going to come in very handy. I wil be getting around to this very soon while sorting the boot rust out.

Got welding done on the rear bumper. Yes its about time i can finally secure my bumper with nut and bolt not cable tie haha. Went round my mates the other day and they got to work on one of the bumper mounting points (as seen in recent post)
Image

Plates welded and sealed
Image

Grinding the arches clean ready to weld

Plate welded and sealed

Bumper back on but still sagging :(. Maybe i didnt hammer the bar straight enough.
Image

This is the state or surface and deep rust in the boot at the moment. Just got to wire brush and grind to clear it up and weld plates if any turn into hole
Image

:O Big whole found!
Image

Another 2 holes found and thats the last of them.
Image
Image

Used a whole tin of Tetroseal on the boot and it wasnt put on sparingly haha. Make sure the surface is completely dry before attempting to put any of this on as i found out in the corners it wouldnt stick properly.

Thanks Richie. I hate rust :/. The car has gone now dude I found more rust underneath the car. 2 spots about 12"x4" and gone through most of the chassis so I started ripping the kit of so I wouldn't put it back together again lol. It took so long just to get to the stage it was at and just seemed it was going to take just as long to finish the engine was on the way out too. Another Sol gone :(

No I haven't got another one was tempted. One of the boys near me has a sol too and he was trying to convince me to get another Sol :) lol but I think I'm leaning towards a newer car now. The sol has been a learning curve.
