If you're having such a strong, hard colour on the outside, how about a contrasting colour for the bay/rocker?! Perhaps a soft creamy white be an interesting contrast, especially if you did the whole bay in it? You either need a neutral colour (ie white, grey or black) to balance things a bit, or perhaps a lighter hue of green. I think the colour would need to be softer than the kawasaki green to give the colour scheme some balance :)

I'm sure there was someone on here two or three years ago that had a Kwak green sol. It was very... err... green.

These people do a huge range of engine paints. I've bought from them and they're very helpful.

A word of caution on your rocker cover. The how-to will say to strip it with Nitromors. Nitromors have recently changed their formula to make it environmentally friendly. It may be kind to the environment but unfortunately it no longer strips paint, something I learned the hard way recently! Total waste of time and money. The place above also sells spray paint stripper which might be a better bet.

Ah Spees your only up the road then. When you poing to put picys up of your project then? Is it on the road then?

Sol'd Out - hehe yes kaw green is bright :) I'll have a look at the link in a bit, I hope they do some sort of nice green high temp paint. Er I could try find someone and get it sand blasted? Would that be better than using a stripper?

Sandblasting is quick and effective but the alloy is very soft so you may find it pits quite badly so you'll have some sanding prior to paint. Paint stripper will do less damage.

Have you thought about powder coating as an alternative to paint? I have a powder coated one - great finish and more hardwearing.

Ah right ok, well I don't mind it being powder coated. Stupid question maybe but does powder coating come in a can or something and what's the difference between that and VHT paint?

You need to have it professionally done. They spray it with a special powder and then bake it in an oven. It comes in loads of colours and isn't that expensive (I think I paid about 20 quid. Very hard wearing and won't peel. The only thing is you'll either have to remove your plug seals first or get a new set otherwise the heat will melt them.

Where did you have it done? I dunno the going rate for this sort of thing, but £20 sounds pretty good to me - I thought it was more expensive than that!

Had it done through a friend so I don't actually know where it was done but there's loads of places that do it. Best to phone a few and get some quotes and also to find somewhere local if possible as it's not that cheap to send rocker covers through the post.

I think I will try and diy it, just done a quick search on ebay and found kermit green VHT for about £10 in p+p :D. I seen a write up some where not for a Honda cover thought but it's all the same I guess, any way they just baked it in the oven for so long. When I get round to it I'll put picys up obviously. I've just been searching the net for some lime green samples of upholstery vinyl, just got to wait for them now to see how close they are to Kaw green.

Found someone down me that does dyno power runs for £50 and they tune too so will be talking to them about my supercharger idea.
