After a 4 year break......I'm back with a new Project!!

Postby hardcj20 » Thu May 29, 2014 11:55 pm

Hi SIR-chris. hope you're well, I'm glad to be back!!!

Solman - Its like riding a bike.....you never forget!haha.

Yeah the front bumper is quite subtle, but I'm definitely keeping it as i think it does suit the car!

Neither can I to be honest, my first job is to fix the transtop....I have an error code 9 which means rear window switch, I'm going to have a play tomorrow.......fingers crossed!

Will update with a my new project plan for this car later on! :D (I'm still working out my options haha!)

Watch out for that code 9, if the rear window light is working on the cluster I doubt the switch is the problem. If you look at Adams bypass mod this will totally rule the switch out, also easier than ripping the rear window mech out.

Hi Solman, thanks for the info.....what's Adams bypass mod? Do you have a link at all, I've not seen that one!haha I was going to have a look and do the self diagnostics thing, want to take the rear window out to tint it anyway.....but just incase I can't fix it, it might be good to look into this mod!

The New Project

Postby hardcj20 » Fri May 30, 2014 5:31 pm

Not to worry Solman, I found it!

I did the modification this afternoon but to no avail! :-(

1) windows shut, hand brake on, engine running....
2) unlock side handles on the roof and then there is a beep every half second,
3)I push and hold the open/close button and then the beep goes continuous and nothing happens....

I've checked most things for the correct continuity/voltages as per the self diagnostics manual from honda but still puzzled.

I pulled the aux fuze for 30 seconds and tried again but I'm still getting a code 9. I did randomly get a code 1 for a little while but I'm now back to code 1.....hmmm I'm done for today but will not let this beat me!haha

Pull out the tilter unit and check the cogs and alignment it doesn't take long, check the battery earth to the chassis it needs to be clean, sounds like you have a metre so check the alternator and battery for good measure.

The New Project....

Postby hardcj20 » Sat May 31, 2014 8:08 pm

Well I took the plastics off around the titter and saw my problem straight away!!!

image.jpg
What a mess!

Seems someone has had a go at electrics with bell wire and choccy blocks.....

Solman, I took the filter apart while I was there and all the cogs look brand new, all teeth are in place and no wear where the worm gear meets the main drive gear....so I suppose that's a plus! :P

I have the right colours on the car harness side, but it looks like 4 wires that go into the drive end of the filter have been replaced with bell wire, 1 black, 1 black/white, 1 grey and 1 grey/white....are these the correct colours or am I right in thinking they've been replaced.....

I'm going to do my mass research into how the tiller unit works now and what all the wires are meant to do....I will get this working!haha

The New Project....

Postby hardcj20 » Fri Jul 25, 2014 2:54 pm

Its been a while since I've done an update....unfortunately work has taken over a little bit, but I do have a few weeks off which is nice!

Only been doing little jobs when I can fit them in at the moment, firstly....the peeling lights

rsz_1before.jpg
Before.....peeling.....misty

Now the finished article....

rsz_after.jpg
After sanding/polishing

Next is the exhaust and intake....now I did want to save some money and buy a decent exhaust manifold, decay and cat back system....but unfortunately with paying for my wedding which is only 7 weeks away and the exhaust in a really bad way, I've gone and bought cheap.....not that i'm overly worried as my old black del sol didn't have anything named on the exhaust system and it performed very very well!....BUT i will be spending some money on it when i can! ;)

Next is a few pictures after my friend did a very good valet/detail on the paintwork.....one flaw....it massively showed up how many panels have been re sprayed....oops!!haha So i think i'll have to budget in a complete respray one day.....which colour.....I'm thinking a candy metallic blue

rsz_after_valet_2.jpg

rsz_after_valet_3.jpg

The paintwork really does need sorting now....especially after some Wa**er parked next to me left his parking space and hit my car on the way out.....he then drive off!!!!!!

rsz_hit_and_run.jpg

The bumper just needs a little repair....and something I wanted to look at anyway as it didn't seem to fix correctly to the wing....but the wing I'll just replace with one from another car.

Thankfully though, I did witness it happen and got his number plate....police are now dealing with it!! He knew he did it, he had to stop, reverse and then drive off.....some people really pi** me off!!!!
