Transtop forks won't come out

Hi I'm new to the honda forum I live in Botswana Africa . I have just bought a 96del sol with a damaged roof controller, I managed to get a used one for england we've just fitted it. The boot comes up and the windows goes down the roof lifts but the forks don't come out. Please can someone help
