... some pics!

Here's why it's best not to try a fix like this when the weather is dubious!

Image

and here's how you seal the inside of hole where the locator thingy goes. It's tricky, but is possible if you have the interior out (and the jack removed)

A little bit of extra info, not sure if everyone will have this problem - I noticed some leakage occuring from the small clip that sits near the rear window, holding the sail panel in place. Although it doesn't go directly into the boot, it is possible that some could in theory leak in. If not, it'll just run down the empty section at the side of the car (where the electric aerial is etc.). It might be a good idea to remove it (almost impossible without breaking I think!) and replace it, or bung some sealant around it without removing it (remember to dry it thoroughly first though and make sure it is fully sealed all around and at the bottom of the clip so no water can get trapped in that area). Chances are that when removing the sail panels, you may possibly dislodge it. It's the hole at the back of this pic with grey primer around the edges (paint came off unfortunately)

Like I said, it's just something I happened to notice. It's a bit easier having no boot interior, you can just reach around till you find the water.

I used this how to and yes my pipes were blocked to which water drains away but I still have the sloshing water somewhere.

Any ideas? or is there a 'how to' on here I have missed which may suggest where else I have got water sitting.

It's sitting in the rear drain, just underneath the rear window. I know somebody else with exactly the same problem and I did mine recently (fairly unsuccessfully I might add!)

Try typing in 'Lower' and 'Drain' or 'Drains' into search and that should come up with a how-to

Right just done mine. The panels came off easy as though they'd been off before a few times. My nearside was blocked really bad the offside was OK.

As I didn't have any pressurised air so I got the hosepipe, shoved it in the hole and turned it on (and got covered in water). This still didn't unblock it and I didn't have any pipes to shove down there.

In the end I got two slightly smaller tubes, attached one to the hose and to the other reducing the size of the pipes (which came of an old foot pump and fits down the hole perfectly) shoved it right down into the hole and turned it on. Still nothing! Then I put the hose sized bit over the drain and tried that, loads of crap came out. So this in the end cleared it.

I put silicone around all the clips too and done the rear window rubber etc. My panels are back on but they don't sit VERY tight, with a slight gap at the top of each one where it meets the panel with the brake light housing in.

Still it's done! I didn't have a wet boot but I was getting water on the inside boot skin. Let's see if this makes a difference!

do you mean silicone grease? the post you made before this said you also did your rear window rubbers so im assuming your using grease? I think grease will only work for a short period of time.

ive used silicone sealant on mine:-

hoping this is going to work, will find out soon enough!
