How to remove front bumper and resonator box

Postby pablo296 » Fri Jun 23, 2006 7:11 pm

I've had a short ram air intake for a long time now and never got round to adding the last bit of pipe to make it CAI so i decide today to have a go and take pics.

Step one.

I started off by removing the 6 philips type screw off the front in the engine bay.

step two.

I then remove the 2 10mm bolts underneath.

Image

Step three.

I then removed the 2 hidden screw on each wing.

Final step of removal of bumper is to pull it straight trying not to knock your aux lights. job done

Now on to removing the resonator.

First step remove bolt visible as shown here:-

Image

next step is to remove the bolt under neath shown here:-

Image

Last but not least there is one as you like from in the engine bay out right on the U of the resonator box shown here:-

Image

there is another holding it together but i couldn't get a picture.

hope that helps anyone.

Thanks Pablo this was very helpfull , took my bumper off today after looking at this with no problem.
I would say there are 7 bolt things on the top of the bumper and i had a sensor for the AC bolted to the bumper that i was not expecting, but that would be petty.

Thanks again Pablo for this.

I'm loving the induction noise - and I've only got the standard airbox and exhaust. You can only hear a difference when you plant the throttle (sounds the same on tickover to me)...so I'll be planting the throttle more often now :D

Space. It seems to go on forever, but then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you.

Just done this on mine, and got totally peed off trying to get to the bolt that holds the 2 parts together. In the end I just pulled on the box until the bracket snapped off. It's alot easier! :D Also theres another plastic screw under the car that needs to be undone to allow the u bend part to drop out of the bottom.

Today i removed mine, by removing the inner wheel arch :D took about 15mins in total.

Where is the best place to get the fixings from that hold in the wheel arch? I have noticed a few of mine are missing.
Somebody left me a nice note on the car today......... It said 'Parking fine'...That was nice!!!
