Sorry for the delay guys, here's three suggested routes for our trip:

1) To the West Coast

- Friday: We drive from Calais to a camp site near/in Le Mans. Total Distance: 424km, Estimated Journey Time: 4 Hours. Check out the track (from the outside only probably), wander around town, see local stuff and stay over Fri night.
- Saturday: We drive from Le Mans to Saint Nazaire on the West Coast. Total Distance: 242km, Estimated Journey Time: 2.5 Hours. Spend a bit of time checking out the town, go to the beach if we want, drive round taking photo’s etc. Maybe a meal out and a few beers. Stay over Sat night.
- Sunday: Relaxed morning, do a bit more round town if we want, maybe out for lunch and try some frogs legs (!) and then start our return trip in the afternoon – drive to Rouen and stay overnight. Total Distance: 440km, Estimated Journey Time: 4 Hours.
- Monday: Make our way back to Calais for an afternoon Eurotunnel trip. Total Distance: 214km, Estimated Journey Time: 2 Hours. Get home early evening dependant on where you are in the UK.

- Sunday: Relaxed morning, do a bit more round town if we want, maybe out for lunch and try some frogs legs (!) and then start our return trip in the afternoon – drive to Chalons and stay overnight. Total Distance: 250km, Estimated Journey Time: 2.25 Hours.
- Monday: Make our way back to Calais for an afternoon Eurotunnel trip. Total Distance: 320km, Estimated Journey Time: 3 Hours. Get home early evening dependant on where you are in the UK.

Or we could ditch the idea until next yr, and join the following Honda Europe Meet a weekend later than planned:

Quite tempted

I'm still very much up for the French camping trip this year. personally a route that takes in some more mountainous scenery, but all options open. West coast might be a little cooler in Autumn - camping in Bordeaux could be unbearably hot! It's a change to the usual car show event which has plenty of UK dates in the calendar. However, I reckon we need a minimum of at least half a dozen Del Sols and about 12 people to make this viable. What's the head count now, bearing mind the inevitable 50% drop out rate as the date gets nearer and people are asked to stump up some cash?

ok cool. Well if we go 15th - 18th August (or the following wkend if we want to meet up with the other Honda trip) we're looking at £90 return for the eurotunnel. We'd have to book that quite soon. So if no-one can pay this soon then I don't think we'll be able to secure space on the tunnel together. I'm pretty sure it's non-refundable too if anyone pulls out

As much as it pains me to say it, I don't think I'll be able to make this anymore. I need to save both my work holidays and money for a month-long trip to New Zealand and Oz early next year that is now defo going ahead with the mrs.

That doesn't mean to say it can't go ahead tho. Feel free to use this thread to continue to organise. All's needed is the booking of the eurotunnel

BUT I am determined to do this next year and meet up with our fellow European Sols in June or July to commemorate the Sol's 20th anniversary. I'll make reference to this thread as I think it has lots of useful info in it for next time. Hopefully we'll get a fair bit more interest too :)
